About Us

Alan and Chrissy Brill “The Brae” singer/song writers both uncovered their passion for music at an early age, listening to their parent’s favourite artistes.

Based in Hampshire, England, The Brae are independent artists and have been performing as a duo for over 35 years.  They took a break from recording to raise a family but never stopped performing at live gigs.

Original Music

For a good few years now; they have been writing, recording their own songs and since 2017,  they have written and released 5 singles through their own production company, which includes "Start Right Now" released in January 2019.  This song won Best Country Song in the Indies Music competition held by Indiecon USA in June 2018.

In 2018 The Brae were invited to play live at the BBC Berkshire’s new radio station.

Alan and Chrissy’s single, “We Were Young”, was released on March 12th 2020, and like all their other releases are available on streaming platforms worldwide.

The Brae have developed their song writing skills and released  their first album "Start Right Now"  in 2023 which  reached no. 23 in the UK iTunes Country Charts and their single Born to Run climbing to No. 5. The album was written in the UK and partly recorded and produced in the USA. The Brae's music has an updated spin on country with a rocky edge . Their debut album is country pop, is eclectic and  is pulled together with polished and professional song craft. Their song writing style isn’t always traditional country, there is a touch of pop, rock and blues. They have meaningful lyrics with strong melody. Their inspiration to write have been inspired from experiences through their lives and some inspired by movies they enjoy. There is definitely a story behind every song.
